Snow Angel
Oil on Herringbone Linen
42 x 48 inches, framed
We spent so many days getting up to start painting before sunrise in the deep cold of New England winter. It was worth it. My sister Cassandra modeled for this one. The painting started out being inspired by an old Russian photograph of a beautiful girl pictured against a whiteout snowy landscape. It evolved into a symbol of winter itself, a snow angel.
