Wayside Spring
2022, Oil on Canvas
14 x 23 inches, unframed
Gazing at this painting, I had my first experience of seeing energy in rich detail. As the paint on the surface of the canvas swirled and pulsed in my vision, I relaxed. The swirling movement gave way to stillness. Then, the focus of my vision moved from the surface of the painting, to the space between the painting and myself. There, clear as day, were the fibers of my energy field. They were reddish in hue, running vertically from head to toe, moving smoothly in a clockwise fashion around me. As my field of vision expanded above, below, and all around me I began to feel like I was moving into another place: somewhere other than sitting in my studio. The sensation of displacement was too much. I had to snap myself out of it. Enough of the unknown for one night.
